What’s a bosun, anyway?
A nautical term for a petty officer, a bosun or boatswain, is responsible for a ship’s anchors, colors, deck crew and boats. The bosun is a middleman in the hierarchy of the ship’s crew and ensures everything on-deck runs smoothly, which allows the ship’s superiors to focus on their work.
